Ollie Comes to Forest School

We had a new addition to Forest School today, Ollie the Elf. He had heard that we were going to the woods so sent a message to Miss Sutcliffe to ask if he could come along. The children were excited to have a new member of their team but were concerned that he was not dressed suitably for the wet weather. They agreed that Ollie needed his own set of waterproofs and wellies, but we didn't have any small enough to fit him. It was suggested that the Nursery class may be able to help us out. Moments later, Ollie was kitted out and ready to go.

On the way to the woods, Ollie explained that his family and friends lived there and they had been having some troubles with a rather grumpy dragon that had taken up residence. The children were eager to help Ollie and his friends and had soon formulated a plan about how to protect their homes and capture the dragon.

Safa, Dylan and Hannah worked together to create a fortified residence in the fork of a tree to protect Ollie's forest friends. They also used branches as paintbrushes to daub the trunk of the tree with mud to help to camouflage it.

Ruby, Neve and created an ingenious stick-net trap in which to ensnare the the despicable dragon.
